Food cravings tend to be different for each and every expectant mother. While some crave simple salty or sweet snacks, others can crave unexpected tastes like dirt, laundry starch, and even soap.

ICECREAM

Ice cream is a common pregnancy craving not only because it’s so sweet and delicious but because it’s also chock full of calcium.

PICKLES

The increased blood production requires increased sodium intake - hence the craving for pickles!

POTATO CHIPS

Like pickles, your insatiable appetite for potato chips could be coming from lack of sodium.

CHEESE

Cheese is a common craving when the body is lacking calcium. But, this craving isn’t bad, consuming certain cheeses during pregnancy can be beneficial.

PEANUT BUTTER

Peanut butter cravings most likely stem from the hormones produced by expecting mothers.

ICE

Ice is an extremely typical craving during pregnancy and generally stems from a condition called pica.

SOUR FOODS

Could be from a variety of reasons including a calcium deficiency, a vitamin C deficiency, or a sodium deficiency.
